MORGION Revamp Lineup, Continue Work On New CD
April 15, 2003Californian death-doomsters MORGION have parted ways with vocalist Adrian Leroux (formerly of MINDROT) following the completion of the group's recent Doomination of Europe tour. In his place, the band have enlisted longtime fan and friend Justin Christian, who will be taking up the role of bass guitarist. Additionally, keyboardist and guitarist Gary Griffith will be performing the singing on the group's upcoming album, while guitarist Dwayne Boardman will be responsible for all the "brutal" vocals.
MORGION, who are currently unsigned following a split with Relapse Records last year, are hard at work recording their third album, "Cloaked by Ages, Crowned in Earth", for a tentative late 2003 release through an as-yet-undetermined label. The band are also selling a CD-R featuring the ultra-rare "Rabid Decay" demo and "Travesty" 7", as well as a previously unreleased live studio recording from 1992. Plans also exist for a similar compilation that will include new demo tracks, a live concert recording from 1999, and the unreleased "Oceans Without Shores" EP.
